Tiny Jam
Privacy Policy
Last updated 30 October 2026
The short version: your children's names, your jam diary and anything the microphone hears stay on your phone. We don't show ads, we don't sell data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Tiny Jam ("the App") is provided by Seneca Labs, the trading name of SenecaLabs For Computer Systems & Communication Equipment Software Design, a sole establishment registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Licence No. 1637377) ("Seneca Labs", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, where it is stored and how it is protected.
1. Who the App is for
Tiny Jam is for parents and other grown-ups who play and sing with children. Children may watch the screen, tap pictures and choose songs while a grown-up is with them, but the App is meant to be set up and used by an adult. The App has no accounts and no sign-in. Buying, changing a subscription, and anything that leaves the App sit behind a grown-ups-only check when the App is in a children's screen.
2. Information collected
2.1 Information that stays on your device
We never receive the following. It is stored only on your phone or tablet, and it is left out of iCloud, Google and computer backups and out of Android device-to-device transfer:
- Your children's first names, avatars and age stage, which you can add so the App can sing their name and pick songs for their age.
- Your jam diary: the songs you played, notes you write, stickers and streaks.
- Your settings: instrument, levels, song set, theme and similar choices.
To delete it: clear the children's names in Me → Kids, and the jam diary in Me → More settings → Clear jam diary. To remove everything, delete the App.
The microphone. Only the tuner and Find my key use it, to hear the note you play or hum while one of them is open. The sound is turned into a pitch reading on your device and then thrown away. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent. The App asks for permission first, and you can say no or turn it off in your phone's settings; everything except those two tools works without it.
2.2 Information we receive
We receive a small amount of information that is not linked to your identity (the App never asks for your name, email or an account), to keep the App working and to improve it:
| What | Examples | Why | Who processes it for us |
|---|---|---|---|
| App activity (only if you allow it, see below) | Which screens and features are used (for example "a song was played at the Easy level on guitar"), onboarding steps, whether a trial was started, in-app purchase and subscription events, and a rough region (such as the country or city) that Firebase estimates from a shortened IP address | To understand which songs and features help families jam, and to fix what doesn't work | Google Firebase Analytics |
| Crash and performance data | Crash reports, the device model and system version, app version | To find and fix crashes | Google Firebase Crashlytics |
| App settings from our server | Which optional features are switched on | To turn features on or off without an app update | Google Firebase Remote Config |
| Purchases | Whether you have Tiny Jam Premium, your subscription plan and its renewal, a random purchase ID | To unlock Premium and restore it on a new phone | RevenueCat, and Apple or Google, who handle the payment |
| Device identifiers | A random ID for this installation of the App (Firebase installation ID, RevenueCat anonymous ID) | To count installs and keep your Premium status, not to identify you | Firebase, RevenueCat |
You choose whether app activity is shared, in Me → More settings → Share app usage. It is off until you turn it on, wherever you live, and you can turn it off again at any time. While it's off, the App sends no app activity at all. Crash reports are not covered by this switch: they contain no names or content, are not linked to your identity, and we need them to keep the App working.
These events never contain a child's name, anything you type in the diary, or any sound. The App checks every event before it is sent and drops anything that looks like a name.
If you email us (Me → Help & feedback), we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to answer you.
2.3 Information we don't collect
We do not collect your name, phone number, address, contacts, photos, your precise location, an advertising ID, biometric data or any audio. (Firebase estimates a rough region, such as the country or city, from a shortened IP address; see App activity above.) We don't use advertising or tracking SDKs, and the App does not ask to track you.
Payments. Apple or Google takes the payment. We never see your card or payment details.
3. How we use information
- To provide the App and Tiny Jam Premium, and to restore Premium on a new phone.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs.
- To turn optional features on or off without an app update.
- If you allow it, to understand how the App is used and to improve its songs and features.
- To answer you when you write to us.
We do not use information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
4. Third-party services
The App uses these services, which process information only to provide their service to us, under their own privacy and security terms:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config): https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- RevenueCat (subscription management): https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple (App Store distribution and in-app purchases): https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Google Play (distribution and in-app purchases on Android): https://policies.google.com/privacy
No advertising networks or data brokers are integrated. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
5. Storage, location and security
5.1 Storage
The information in section 2.1 stays on your device. The information in section 2.2 is stored by Google (Firebase) and RevenueCat on their cloud infrastructure, which may be in the United States, the European Union or other regions. It is not stored on servers in the United Arab Emirates.
5.2 Security
Information sent to our service providers is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored encrypted by them. Access to their consoles is limited to us. Information stored on your device is protected by your device's own security.
5.3 Retention
- Analytics events: 2 months, then deleted.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
- Purchase records: for as long as you have a subscription, and after that as long as the law requires for tax and accounting records.
- Emails to us: as long as we need them to help you.
- If you ask us to delete information, we do so within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU, the UK GDPR, the CCPA in California, or the UAE Personal Data Protection Law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete information about you, to object to or restrict its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. Because the information in section 2.2 is not linked to your identity, we may need more detail to find it (for example your device model and when you installed the App). We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days.
You can turn app activity off at any time in Me → More settings → Share app usage, and reset the analytics ID by deleting and reinstalling the App. In the EU and the UK, we share app activity only with your consent (that switch); for crash reports and the App's settings we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the App working, and for Premium on our contract with you. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Children
Tiny Jam is a music app for families, set up and used by grown-ups and played with children while a grown-up is with them. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children: children's first names and the jam diary never leave the device, and the information in section 2.2 is not linked to anyone's identity. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
8. International data transfers
Our service providers may process the information in section 2.2 in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States and the European Union. Where the law requires it, these transfers are covered by the providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App, our service providers or the law change. We will post the new version at this address and change the "Last updated" date, and for a significant change we will also tell you in the App.
10. Governing law
This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applicable in the Emirate of Dubai, and any dispute arising from it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Arab Emirates. Nothing in this section takes away the protection of the data protection or consumer laws of the country where you live.
